What is a Recall?

Chevrolet can issue a recall to fix a problem or defect with their vehicles by requesting the vehicle owners to bring their vehicle to an authorized Chevrolet service center. Safety-related issues are the main reason for issuing a recall; however, the vehicle manufacturer can also issue a recall for other issues. This is typically done through a service campaign. The vehicle manufacturer can also be alerted by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Authority) if one or more of their models don’t meet minimum safety standards. This requires the vehicle manufacturer to issue a recall to fix the safety issue with their vehicle.
