2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV

 

While you are likely familiar with the Chevy Silverado family already, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV is a new addition to the EV lineup. The 2024 EV may belong to the Silverado lineup, but it is also a first for Chevy in many respects. 

Performance

 Like other electric vehicles, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado will pack plenty of power. The WT model will feature an all-wheel-drive setup and standard dual-motor producing 510 horsepower and 615 pound-feet of torque. The RST also receives dual motors and adds an available wide open watts mode with a powerful 664 horsepower and 780 pound-feet of torque. With the dual-motor, it has claimed a 4.5-second sprint to 60 mph. 

Despite being electric, this work truck hasn't lost its towing capability. It features a 1,200-pound payload rating along with a top towing capacity of 10,000 pounds for both trim levels. 

The Chevy Silverado EV will use the new two-layer, Ultium battery pack from General Motors that predicts over 400 miles of range. Not to mention, it'll feature DC fast charging capabilities, enabling approximately 100 miles of range to be added in just 10 minutes. The truck can also offer 10.2 kW of power generation for appliances or a home.

Exterior and Interior

 Unlike the standard body-on-frame Silverado, this electric version will feature a unibody frame. Its most useful feature is the multi-flex tailgate function that has an integrated bed. With the open portal between the cabin and cargo area, the storage length is 11 feet. This allows users to carry longer items like kayaks and other equipment. 

While the crew cab remains the same size as the regular gas counterpart, the electric Silverado will feature luxurious features like a black and white two-tone leather upholstery with red piping and a fixed glass roof. 

Safety

 Driver assistance technology is the new wave of innovation, and Chevy is here for it. This electric pickup will feature Super Cruise, a truly hands-free driving system that utilizes an in-car monitoring system, sensors that watch its surroundings, and high-definition maps. The Super Cruise feature utilizes other chevy safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane centering, and enhanced automatic braking. This allows the pickup to maintain a safe driving distance while ensuring the vehicle is centered in the lane and helps you avoid potential collisions.
