That's because a large part of the carbon fiber strip that runs down the middle of the hood is the top of intercooler cover. Having part of the engine so close to the hood is a no-go in Europe, but it's more than allowed in the US.
• It's not just you, the driver, that will get to experience the power of the LT5. Word has it that the LT5 will shoot flames out of the exhaust, so there's even something for people sitting behind the ZR1 to marvel at. The exhaust promises to be even louder than previous models, too, thanks to a lack of production in Europe where regulations are again stricter.
• Speed matters with the ZR1 and Chevy engineers believe the latest ZR1 will hit 60 mph in less than three seconds, breeze a quarter of a mile in less than 11 seconds and top out at around 210 mph.
• Don't think that means the ZR1 won't be forgiving, however. You really can have it all with the ZR1 thanks to forgivingly calibrated springs and dampers. As well as an electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
